Carry-On or Check?

We just got back from Utah and unpacked, but Max was ready to go back. He didn't actually travel in the suitcase, but maybe the trip would have been easier if he had!

Old Friends

This weekend, on the way to Alexis' wedding, I stopped in Vegas to see my old mission companion Cathy. She has a darling little boy, Taj, and Max had a great time playing with him. Thanks for lunch Cathy! Love ya!

New Portraits

Max had his portraits taken recently, and I bought a bunch! I'm such a sucker. But it's like Jessie always says, you aren't going to look back someday and say, "Man, I have too many portraits!"

Video - Max Photo Story

Ryan made this photo story. he did a good job, and it's really cute, but it's long, so don't click on it unless you have a few minutes!

Video - Max Talking on the Phone

You can tell that Max watches us talk on the phone! In case you are wondering, he's inside a huge jungle gym we bought him on clearance from Target. We're such suckers! It takes up almost his entire room!

Lazy Bums

I know this picture is on Jessie's blog, but it is so funny, I wanted Ryan's family to see it too. This is Max and his cousins Amelia and Colin getting ready for the bath. They couldn't wait to get in!

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday, Max went to the doctor for his 18 month check-up. He is 50th percentile for his head size and height and 25th for his weight. While we were there, Max was playing with the toys in the exam room while I was having a conversation with the pediatrician about Max's eating habits. Pretty soon I notice that the doctor's stool is getting taller, her feet coming off of the ground, and that her knees are coming up level with the counter she was sitting next to. I look down and there's Max under her stool cranking the wheel that adjusts the stool's height! She never even said anything, and there's no way she didn't notice! Max loves to get into trouble. I wish everyone could have seen the sneaky look on his face when I caught him under that stool!

Chinese Pajamas

When Max was born, Jessie gave him these Chinese pajamas. Red is the traditional color for boys. They almost fit Max now, and he had a lot of fun wearing them and sliding all over the floor.

Like Father, Like Son

It's amazing how much Max and Ryan look alike. It seems like Max only got my hair! They are always so cute together.

Laundry Time

Max loves to flop on top of my dirty laundry pile. That's kind of gross, but he does it on stuffed animals and pillows too, so he doesn't prefer the dirt. It's really funny.

Camping Trip

Here are some pictures of our camping trip last month. Max found a stick on the ground that looked like a gun and was automatically drawn to it. Ryan promptly taught him what a gun "says" (very important for someone who's not even 2 years old) and he went around shooting at everyone's knees for a few hours!

San Diego

Here are a few pictures from a recent trip to visit Kim in San Diego. These are of Max's first trip to the beach. He had such a great time, until when he realized that sand tastes nasty. He wanted to run straight into the ocean, and it was a full-time job for several people to keep him out of trouble.

Bath Time

The other day we realized that Max's foam letters sick not only to the bathtub, but to him as well! Bath time has become Max's favorite time. He loves splashing and throwing things out on to the ground. Yea. Anyway, as you can see, his hair is getting really long and fro-ish, but we haven't decided what to do with it yet.

Welcome!

Ryan and I were looking for an easier way to keep our families updated on our exciting lives when a friend of mine sent me to her blog. It was so cute, and it seemed like something we could manage, so here we are. Please bear with us while we get this going and let us know if you have any suggestions. By the way, this is a picture of us on Easter.
