Thanksgiving After Party

Here's some pictures of a little party we had at Dad's on the day after Thanksgiving. I didn't get very many pictures, but I did get a rare photo of Phoenix's newest rock star - Jean "Slasher" Gietz.

Indulge Me

OK - I realize that this picture isn't very funny or very good, but I think it's hilarious! I have to admit that every time I look at it I laugh. I guess I love that Max insisted that the bunny and the dog ride too. Dad is such a good sport!

Christmas Trees and Stickers

We decorated our Christmas tree! (I'm ashamed to say when - it was so early). Here's a picture of Max helping. He decorated the tree with ornaments and his stomach with pirate stickers. How festive.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Evie is starting to lose her hair. I'm so sad about it! Everyday I wake up and wonder how crazy her hair will look that day! But, she's starting to get a bald ring around her head, so those days will be over soon. Here's some recent pictures of her lovely locks.

This is Thanksgiving:

OK - I know there's no hair in this picture. It was just so cute I had to post it anyway.

Big Wheel Blunders

Poor Ryan had a terrifying experience the other day. Max loves to play on a Spiderman big wheel tricycle that we bought for him when he was a baby (you know how it is with your first one!). He can't really ride it yet, he can go forward a couple of inches and back a couple of inches, he mostly just pushes the buttons. Ryan was setting up shelves in the garage and Max was playing on the bike. All of a sudden Max calls out, "Daddy, Max go fast!" Then he starts pedaling like a pro and goes flying out of the garage into the driveway. At this point he starts picking up speed on the sloped driveway and yelling, "Whee!". Ryan is chasing him, but can't catch him. Max flies into the street and crashes into the curb on the other side laughing his head off, never suspecting that his life is in peril. Poor Ryan almost had a heart attack. It's a good thing we live on a pretty slow street!

Bumbo Bliss

We finally bit the bullet and bought Evie a Bumbo chair. She's pretty strong and likes to be in the action with the family, so we knew she'd love it. Max of course thought it was for him. Here he is showing her how its done.

Blessing Portraits

We had these pictures taken just after Evie's blessing. Neither of the kids were very cooperative, but we did get a few cute ones.

New Friends

Max has never been too interested in Evie - they pretty much go their separate ways during the day. Today though, he actually asked if he could hold her. Obviously that wouldn't work too well, so we settled for sitting by her on the couch.

Yum

One of Max's favorite games is to collect a pile of river rocks on the bridge and pretend they are cookies to eat. If you ask him what his favorite flavors of rock cookies are, he'll tell you "house" and "hamburger."

One of These Things is Not Like the Others

Darling children, pastel jackets, playing restaurant on blue floral plates in a cartoonish playhouse, giant skull-handled ninja swords - it all goes together right? They got these lovely toys at Target in the Halloween clearance. Charming aren't they? They only use them for shooing flies and the occasional power struggle to control the universe.

Cupboard for Two

I recently posted a picture of Max playing in his cupboard. I always thought that was funny because it seems a little tight in there. But Sunday, Molly and Max got in there together to read books. Apparently there's actually tons of space! I wonder how many more kids they can fit in there!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Evie is now officially rolling over and we have a video of it. I know it looks like it's just gravity, but she does it a lot now so I'm pretty sure it's intentional. Here she is:

Evie Yuckin' It Up

As I was sneezing on Eve's face today I noticed that she found my old fashioned punishment techniques humorous. In case you're wondering, she's down to 1/2 pack a day. Let's enjoy...

Tis the Season

The weather is finally getting nice again , so Lauren and I (plus a few tag-a-longs) decided to head to the park to enjoy it.

Evie doesn't prefer the slide just yet, so here she is just hanging around.

A Pirate's Life for Me

"Appy Owoween!" (Happy Halloween in Max-ese.) We had a great time this year trick-or-treating and visiting family. Here's a few pictures we took of our little pirates.

Two Wonderful Months

Evie is 2 months old now and had her well baby check-up today. She weighs 11 pounds. She is in the 97th percentile for height and 50th for weight and head size. She is starting to smile now and is such a good baby. And yes, her hair looks crazy in this picture. And yes, it always looks crazy!

A Bridge to Somewhere

In our backyard we have a patch of grass on a hill surrounded by a "moat" of river rocks. While Greg was here he decided to make a little bridge to help Max get from the porch to the grass. Max loved helping Papa Greg and Uncle Jackie with his toy tools.

It was hard to get a picture of Max because he couldn't take his eyes off the bridge. It was love at first sight.

Here's Max and Greg on the carousel with their expertly coordinated outfits.

We had such a great time with Greg, Megan, and Jackie. We were sorry to see them go. Come back and visit soon!

Eve's Blessing

Today was Eve's blessing day! It was such a wonderful day for our family. After church, we had a little dinner at our house for the family who came to the blessing. It was so great to get together with everyone! Thanks to all of you who made it out! Unfortunately, I didn't get the camera out until the end of the evening and I was busy a lot of the time, so I didn't get pictures of everyone, but here are a few I did get.

Cruisin'

Ryan's dad, Greg (or Papa Gegg as he is called by some), is in town for Evie's blessing and Max loves hanging out with him! Here they are about to cruise the neighborhood.

Happy Days

Here's some random pictures from the last few days.

As many of you know, Max has taken over an empty cabinet in the kitchen. He likes to hang out in there, even though he has a full sized room down the hall.

The weather is finally nice enough to play outside. The kids had a great time on this little slide Ryan picked up at a garage sale.

Max and Molly like to pretend that the slide is a horse to ride. Molly got confused, and thought that Max was a horse to ride!

The kids were coincidentally dressed in matching clothes the other day, so I tried to get a picture of them together. This was all I could get before Max took off!

Here's Max enjoying a breakfast shake.
